My second album, Numbers, had a interesting production cycle which ended up in a nice 11 track final result. I am here today to give an insider peek at each of those songs. So check it out
Personally, I think my first self titled song on this album turned a lot of people away. If I could do it again I would try not to make it sound so bad. Sorry, y'all!
The Next Sound is a result of a couple of joke songs I sent to my label. I made a lot of drafts for this one that layed things out differently and even had different beats at some point. Overall, I regret releasing this.
For something I do not regret not releasing, see the next track. For lostwave, what you hear is Lil Shartcake's feature that was recorded on a potential song I was working on. In the song, I went for a R&B rapping type of vibe where I tried to mention as many numbers as possible, then edited out every time i said a number with the Garageband number samples constantly seen throughout the album. I was initially confident with my song but after hearing it back I decided it was better off not having my verse see the light of day. But I didn't want to waste the verse sent by Lil Shartcake so I made it lostwave by putting my microphone to the audio coming out a shitty pair of headphones. I think the result was worth the effort.
IBTN001 was made like 2 years ago. It was a YTPMV I made of my friend and it even had visuals. However the comments section kept getting closed because youtube thought kids were in the video (I guess that's just the way he looks) and the visuals weren't real, They were just me playing the source video on loop unfettered by the actual rhythm they were on in the song. While putting together the tracklist for this release I decided to throw the audio in cause it kind of matched the Numbers vibe.
Grandma, (who's namesake has recently passed away), was sort of my "Lead Single" for the project. Of course, as we don't release the songs separately that didn't really work, but I hope everyone who listened to the album for long enough enjoyed the song. It was a big stepping stone in my rap style.
Oh man, barbershop 2 is next. I knew I couldn't abandon all the ideas from Xbox Music so a revisit to the Barber Shop had to be taken. The gunshot sounds in this song are actually the sound of a car exploding in GTA San Andreas. I bet you didn't notice that
Let's see... Numerals. God damn I make my instrumental scene setting songs long as fuck. Whatever the case may be, all the samples in this are native garageband. Besides the one at the end. I really only put it in so it could make a smooth transition to
Meetup. Kind of a song I only made to make fun of this dude who seemed really into being a flat earther kind of local to me. I've never seen a flat earther in real life so knowing there was an entire meetup of one that happened at an applebees is a really funny concept. Especially his announcement video just publically made to youtube. Stay flat.
My only comment for Minion Rapper is that it is underrated. Please consider the possibility of Kevin Rapper
Freezer diss came out of me dissing a BrokeBoi fridge which had its freezer on the top. The vocals on this sound kind of lopsided cause I recorded each verse in a different order than they finally appeared on the song. I try not to do that anymore, If I have to reorder something I will rerecord it instead.
The outro on Numbers is a little special as well. It just sounds like a regular song but it actually consists of Garageband Apple Loops but played in reverse with the intruments played forwards. Every layer of the song has this effect and you would think playing the entire song in reverse would sound cool but really it doesn't. Somehow I found a way to mess that up
